Research
Our research focus is on the biophysics of living matter, in particular of model tissues and multicellular networks. A second focus is the application of "AI" and deep learning in biomedical image- and data analysis.
A selection of current projects:
- The role of mechanical forces in tissue growth and regeneration
- Improved resolution of localization microscopy with deep learning (DFG)
- Developing an image-based "virtual parasite" (SPP Physics of Parasitism)
- Biomechanics and neuronal connectivity of C.elegans
- Deep Learning for automated analysis of 3D electron tomography (DFG)
- Multicellular network growth in complex spatial environments
- Quantitative analysis of functional MRT of the peripheral nervous system
