Research

Our research focus is on the biophysics of living matter, in particular of model tissues and multicellular networks. A second focus is the application of "AI" and deep learning in biomedical image- and data analysis.

  • The role of mechanical forces in tissue growth and regeneration
  • Improved resolution of localization microscopy with deep learning (DFG)
  • Developing an image-based "virtual parasite" (SPP Physics of Parasitism)
  • Biomechanics and neuronal connectivity of C.elegans 
  • Deep Learning for automated analysis of 3D electron tomography (DFG)
  • Multicellular network growth in complex spatial environments
  • Quantitative analysis of functional MRT of the peripheral nervous system
